A Dog Lovers Gift Guide

We all love dogs, and we all know people who do too. I’ve put together a few gift ideas for dog lovers this Christmas; as well as presents for our fur babies! Our furry friends are our trusty companions, and all these gifts provide a great way to show the world just how much we love them. Plus, we may spoil our pooches all year long, but that doesn’t stop us also treating them on Christmas day! They are family, after all!

I’d also like to share these links with you as well; if you or fellow dog lovers want to treat a dog in need, please consider donating to one of the following this Christmas time – you can even help out rescued dogs by purchasing gifts from the Dogs Trust Charity Gift Shop which has so many perfect gifts for dog lovers – there are so many dogs in shelters in need of love and deserve so much more than what they’ve so far experienced. Help in any way you can this Christmas and make their day extra special.

Thank you!

A Pug Like Percy / Star Treats / Doodling For Dog People / Bow Tie / Personalised Dog Bowl / Tweed Coat / Radley Bag

So, you know I am well and truly a dog lover. I would be thrilled to receive any of this for Christmas; and I know Rupert would (will be) too! He has his very own basket of presents this year, he is the focus of our family basically! Some toys, treats (to keep him occupied), some Winter jackets and a new bow tie, as well as his very own personalised dog bowl! I actually received an early copy of Fiona Harrison’s ‘A Pug Like Percy’ (which is out now) and let me tell you, it’s one of the sweetest most cosy book I’ve read. I may be biased because it’s a little pug, and we all know my Rupert is a bundle of pug goodness, but I know any dog owner or lover will feel just the same about it! I need to meet Percy, him and Rupert would have so much fun! It’s written as / narrated by Percy, which is the sweetest thing, because we all know our pets talk to us (and we talk back and have full on conversations… anyone else?…) and starts off with him waking up at a dog shelter; talking to his fellow abandoned dogs – it gets very emosh! – and soon we meet his new family, his new pals, and how a little bundle of rolls with a curly tail can save a family. Dogs really do rescue us and this is such a lovely story to remind us of that – I don’t need to tell you all once again how Rupert has saved me.

“A furry festive miracle who’s there for you with a helping paw. Percy definitely isn’t just for Christmas…
Percy is homeless, abandoned by his owner at an animal rescue centre on a cold winter’s night. So when he finds a loving new home with Gail and her family, his deepest wish is that this time, it’s forever. Gail hopes that Percy will be the little miracle that her family so desperately needs. Her young daughter, Jenny, is in and out of hospital and she’s only just holding things together with her husband, Simon. With the family at breaking point, and Christmas just around the corner, is Percy the furry friend they’ve all been waiting for?”

Basically, its a warm and fuzzy book that any lover of dogs with find hard to resist!

Another little book that would make such a perfect gift is Gemma Correll’s ‘Doodling For Dog People’ – I would describe this as a ‘Wreck This Journal’ type book for dog lovers – amazing right?! It has 50 doodle prompts, activities and dog-themed facts and exercises that is ideal for on-the-go creatives!

Radley is always a brand I go to when thinking of gifts for dog lovers – with dog-shaped bags, themed accessories and timeless bags for all budgets with a variety of price points – you can’t go wrong! Besides; their logo is Radley the Scottie! This year they’ve partnered with Dogs Trust (Radley often partner with charities) and have designed a gorgeous little Tote bag, where 15% of the sale price from each bag sold will be donated to Dogs Trust.

“Radley is proud to support Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, who care for nearly 17,000 dogs every year at their 21 rehoming centres across the UK and Ireland. Their mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life.”

I personally love anything personalised for my little Rupert bear; I came across this dog bowl that you can personalise by popping in their name online and bam! You’re dog’s very own bowl! I also adore the likes of custom pet portraits; this one is from a lovely etsy shop!
